Gulsan Jha scored a half-century and took five wickets but that was not quite enough to end Nepal’s winless streak as the Rhinos succumbed to a one-wicket defeat against Oman in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 in King City on Thursday.

Nepal is currently in seventh place in the League 2 rankings, which consists of eight teams, as a result of the results, which means that they have now experienced five losses in a row, making it four in a row. During the first Tri-Series, which also included Namibia and the Netherlands, the Dutch team won their sole match of the League 2 season, which took place in February at the TU Cricket Ground. The Dutch team now holds the top spot in the standings with 12 points, having won six games and losing two.

After suffering their first ever one-day international loss to Canada on Monday, Nepal shown some signs of progress, with their skipper Rohit Paudel also finding his footing after poor performances in his previous four matches. Nepal was eager to get back on track after suffering their first ever loss in a one-day international.

Nepal, who had been called to bat first after losing the toss, got off to a rough start in their innings. They lost Arjun Saud (5), who started in lieu of Kushal Bhurtel, who was not in good form, Aasif Sheikh (11) and Bhim Sharki (11) for a low score, and they were left scratching their heads at 31-3 after 13.1 overs.

But Paudel struck a half-century and rebuilt the innings with Aarif Sheikh, who arrived to bat first for the first time since Nepal’s second leg loss against the Netherlands in February. Together, they took the total beyond 100 and took the innings to a completely different level.

Paudel left the game after scoring sixty runs off of seventy-two balls, including two fours and four sixes, when Aarif was dismissed by Shakeel Ahmed, who was making his first appearance in a One-Day International. Ahmed had scored 35 runs off of 88 balls.

The resurgence was then maintained by Jha, who achieved 53 runs off of 35 balls after being promoted to the sixth position. He knocked out three boundaries and five maximums with his powerful knockout power.

After that, Sompal Kami scored a rapid 20 off just eight balls at the close of the innings, which led Nepal to a score of 220-9 after 50 overs.

This was also the first time that Nepal has ever scored more over 200 runs in the League 2 competition during this particular season.

Oman got off to a strong start with to the contributions of Kashyap Prajapati (36 runs off 52 balls) and Jatinder Singh (41 runs off 49 balls), who contributed 75 runs for the opening wicket.

In the seventeenth over, Sandeep Lamichhane eventually put an end to their stand by lbw-ing Singh, and in the twenty-first over, Aarif put Prajapati out of the game to put a stop to the momentum that Oman was making.

Aqib Ilyas, the captain of Oman, was removed by Jha for 29 runs, and Aayan Khan was dismissed for nine runs. Jha then returned with the ball.

Pratik Athavale (26) and Khalid Kail (17) were the next two wickets that Karan KC knocked out of the game.

After that, Jha bowled a single over in the 48th over, which also featured the wicket of Jay Odedra (5). This resulted in Oman needing 10 runs from the final two overs, with one wicket remaining. Jha succeeded in sending back Shoaib Khan (26) and Fayaaz Butt (8).

Although Karan KC only allowed two runs to be scored in the 49th over, Shakeel and Kaleemullah were able to deprive Sompal Kami of two fours, which resulted in Oman reaching a score of 223-9.

After completing his 10-over period, Jha ended with a score of 5-47, which included two maidens.

As a result of the victory, Oman achieved their second victory in a span of five matches and moved up to the sixth position with five points.

The next two matches of the Canada Tri-Series are scheduled to take place on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively, with Nepal playing Canada and Oman.

Despite the fact that Gulsan Jha shines, Nepal’s struggles continue with a loss to Oman by a single wicket.

Nepal resumed its winless record in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 with a devastating one-wicket loss to Oman. This was despite the fact that Gulsan Jha had a remarkable all-around effort, batting a half-century and collecting five wickets.

Despite the fact that Gulsan Jha’s efforts offered a glimmer of optimism, they were not sufficient to deliver the victory that was so desperately required. Although Nepal’s batting struggled early on, the team was able to make 220-9, which was their highest total of the season, thanks to the significant efforts of Gulsan Jha and Rohit Paudel, the captain. In spite of this, Oman persevered in their pursuit of the aim, which resulted in Nepal falling to seventh position in the rankings.

The outstanding effort that Gulsan Jha turned in was a shining example, but in order to overcome their persistent difficulties, the squad needs to find a way to be consistent.
